Key Dates For Your Diary

Here are some key dates for you to put in your 2009 diary:

1st Nov - CAO online application facility opens
1st Feb (5.15pm) – Closing date for normal applications to CAO for first year undergraduate courses commencing in September 2009.
15th Feb – Date by which you should have received a Statement of Course Choices from the CAO if you submitted your paper application by 1st February deadline.
April – Most interviews and portfolio presentations take place during this time for ‘Restricted Application Courses’ take place
1st May (5.15pm) – Closing date for late CAO applications. No further applications will be accepted after this date.
1st June – All candidates should have received a Statement of Application from the CAO showing details of their application to date.
1st July (5.15pm) – Final date for Change Of Mind course selection options on the CAO application.
Mid August – SEC publish the Leaving Cert results, available online at www.examinations.ie from noon on the designated day.
17th August – CAO release round 1 offers to candidates, available online at 6am. Also listed on the CAO website is a list of the minimum points required for each course.
25th August - Round 1 Acceptances should have been received by the CAO by 5.15pm
28th August – CAO release round 2 offers online at 6am. Also listed on the CAO website is a list of the minimum points required for entry onto each course at the 2nd round stage (minimum points can drop dramatically between round 1 and round 2).
2nd September – Closing date for receipt of acceptance of CAO round 2 offers. Closing date for receipt of Leaving Cert appeal applications.
